About
We started taking pictures and recording our fishing trips for the memories (and to prove that we weren’t lying about the big ones), so I told Jeff that we needed to share these good times.”Let’s share what we know, the places we go, and drop the scientific lingo”.
By using a little common sense and developing some patterns, anyone can catch big fish.
Shannon and Jeff are just two good ol’ Virginia boys, nothing fancy. They are also two brothers, sharing an American dream. Realizing that fishing can be more than a few well spent hours, they have eagerly taken the time to take you along. Join them as they travel down picturesque stretches of river, explore the hidden treasures of forgotten farm ponds and local bodies of water, all while in the pursuit of some good fishing action. Their goal is to share some good times, show what works for them and hopefully inspire you enough to get off the couch and go fishin’…….what are you waiting for?

Thanks to my dad and grandad, I was introduced to fishing about the same time that I learned how to walk. Having several private ponds in the family was definitely a plus, but I soon began to explore any available creek, pond, or lake around. Any time of year, any time of day or night, fresh water or salt, rain or shine, it doesn’t matter. Fishing is in my blood! Thankfully, my daughters seem to have this same passion.
I’ve always been partial to using light action spinning equipment for any type of fish that I’m after. A big bluegill should be just as exciting to reel in as a monster bass. Spinner baits and soft plastics comprise the majority of my tackle, along with 4-6 pound test line. Although I have stuck with the same types of tackle over the years, I am constantly trying new techniques and varieties of lures. I like to take what works well, and mix in a little bit of “what if…..?”

Well, like my brother tells everyone, dad gave him a fishing pole and gave me a drum set to teethe on. But eventually I caught up about the age of 13, I started fishing harolds pond with a texas rigged berkley power bait ribbon tail worm and caught big bass all day long. And I also do Graphic Design/Web Design as a full time job. www.shannonwheelerdesign.com
